Catalyzed finish

All Canwood furniture is finished with a catalyzed (two component) lacquer which provides an extremely durable surface. The following extract from a test for chemical resistance depicts just how tough the finish is:

The chemical composition of the lacquer applied in the Off-Shore Manufactured Collections, described under "The Wood", may vary from the lacquer applied by Canwood. Easy care And the care required for Canwood furniture is simple. No heavy waxes or polishes are needed, but a good quality polish can be used if desired. Wiping with a damp cloth containing a mild detergent, followed by buffing with a soft dry cloth, will keep your furniture clean and dust free. Cared for in this way, Canwood furniture will keep its beauty for years. Fine furniture should never be exposed to strong sunlight or dampness. Exposure to sunlight will accelerate the aging process. Also, since some rubber products, such as computer feet or electrical cords, may discolor the finish, marks may be avoided by placing a strip of felt or leather under accessories.
